Field Day

Today was field day at the kids school. I didn't get to go b/c of an appt (explanation later), but my friend got this great pic of Jonathan doing the tug of war. He is such a stud! LOL I also heard that Megan walked around all day with her new boyfriend, Matthew. He is a new kid that just moved in next door. Apparently she walked around with his arm around her all day! LOL Wish I had a pic of that! Daddy, get some target practice in and get ready to bring out the shotgun! LOL

Kailyn's May Day dance

video

Here is the clip of Kailyn's dance. They danced to Micheal Jackson's "Thriller" and "The Hawaiian Superman". You can see Kailyn after a few seconds of the video on the right side of the screen. See if you can pick her out!

Megan's May Day dance

video

Here's Megans dance clip. Same with Jonathan, you can't see her but you can see part of the dance. She danced to "Puff the Majic Dragon".

Jonathan's May Day Dance

video

Here is a clip of Jonathan's Kindergarten May Day dance. They danced to "Shake a Tailfeather" from Chicken Little. They all had chicken little hats and tail feathers too. It was really cute. You can't see him in the clip...he was on the other side of the field...but you can see a little bit of the dance. I found very quickly that it was hard to be everywhere to see all the kids by myself! They were on different sides of the field, and there was not enough time in between dances to run around to the other side! I tried my best to get a few pics and video clips.

Austin's May Day Dance

video

Here is a video clip of the Pre-K doing their dance to "Under the Sea" for the school's May Day Celebration. It is hard to really tell which one is him, but his teacher is wearing a purple shirt and big straw hat. Trailing behind her are the 6 kids in his class. He is the third one, he is holding the assistant teacher's hand. See if you can spy him !

Tae Kwon Do

Allison and Megan started taking Tae Kwon Do about 2 months ago. They have really enjoyed it. They are both still white belts. They only belt test about every 3 months, so they should get tested in a few months. Allison has already moved up to a more advanced class per request of the Grand Master. She was very excited about that. I think it is going to be very good for both of them...now for self-confidence and later for self-defense to fight off those boys!!! LOL

Hidden paradise

Saturday, we went to the beach. Jamie and I packed up the kids and a picnic supper and headed out on another adventure in the Crazy Bus! This time we went to Ko Olina, where they have lagoons that are perfect for the kids to play pretty much worry-free. We went to the hidden lagoon that is just behind the Paradise Cove Luau. It was such a nice day. There were not many people there and the kids were absolutely fantastic. If every beachtrip was that good, we would go every day! LOL We even got to watch some of the Paradise Cove Luau on the beach. Talk about a treat! Here are some pictures that highlight the day. Enjoy!

Mothers Day dinner

On Mothers Day, we went out to eat for an early dinner at Outback. It was definitely a treat for everyone. Not one we will be doing again for a while...it is expensive here! We stopped and snapped a couple of pics on the way out, here is the best one. Austin was not digging the idea of a picture (pretty common). We also had Natali with us. Robyn had to work, so she couldn't join us. It was a nice meal and we all got STUFFED! LOL

Sports Night with the Girls

Last night was parent's Night Out again. We had Sports Night at Jamie's house. She finally got finished with her Game Room, so we wanted to break it in a bit. We all came dressed in our fav sports attire. Of course, we had 3 GA girls sporting red and black! LOL We played Singstar and Air Hockey. We ate, and then ate some more. Most of all, we just had a really good time. Haven I mentioned before that I LOVE PNO??? It is wonderful!

Sweet Mother's Day!

So technically, it isn't quite Mother's Day yet, but I got a sweet Mother's Day surprise early this morning! Jason sent me an edible arrangement with 3 balloons. I LOVE IT! It is really the best thing in the world! Its beautiful, different, and yummy to eat! It has pineapple, grapes, cantaloupe, and strawberries (some chocolate and some not). The kids all went crazy when I brought it in the door. They have been begging for some of it all morning. So far, I have managed to keep them at bay. We have other grapes and apples in the fridge, so I told them they had to eat those! LOL

Collage

When we had the kids pictures taken at Sears, I got the CD of all th epics with the copyright release, so I could reprint more at Wally World. I found that you can print collages from their too. Here is my collage of our pics. I think they make good collages, even if some of the pics are not "perfect". After all, you really need to see a lot of pictures to get the full range of personality of 5 kids! LOL I still have others that are good too, so I may make another collage before it is all over. By the way, it was only $5, too! WOW!

Some people....

are just plain stupid!

You would think that being a military wife for years, one would understand the importance of leaving out the "details". Things such as names, dates, times, etc that could play a very important role in military mission and security. Well, apparently not everyone is schooled in military rules. There was someone, that I only know of through a friend, that was posting very personal information about an injured soldier (his FULL NAME!) on her personal blog. Now, this person was not a family member of the injured. She was an acquaintace through her husbands work. Now, I completely understand that she was upset and was probably not trying to do anything wrong, but seriously...who would want their name (FULL NAME) posted in a public forum such as a blog, where it could be totally misused? There are already enough problems with scams and identity theft in this world as it is, and it is really bad with our injured and past soldiers. So anyway, I sent this chick a message and told he that she should really take this soldier's FULL name off her blog. She basically took it as a complete blast to her and took much offense to it. I was not dissing her at all, simply stating the fact that it was not a good thing, against opsec, etc. If the family wanted to post his info publicly, then that was their business, but totally not her business to do it. So, she changed her blog, but then posted another saying that she was blasted for it and that we should all stick together and support our soldiers, etc. Yadda, yadda, yadda...Good grief...why can't she just understand that it is NOT ABOUT HER?!?!?! It is about supporting and protecting that injured soldier and his family! Some people just have to make everything about them. So petty! Just drives me crazy...

Weekend update

I haven't posted all week, so I am going to try to wrap everything up real quick here:

The last week of April was long awaited...it was a long month and I couldn't wait for it to be over.

On monday, we went to Sears to get the kids pictures taken. It was a huge mistake! After school, everyone got ready for pictures. As we were getting ready to walk out the door, Allison looked at Austin and said "Oh, mommy!" He had chocolate all over his WHITE shirt! I was so livid that I couldn't even think. I grabbed the shirt off him and tried to scrub it with a toothbrush and soap, trying not to get it completely wet. I put the shirt on the dash of the truck hoping it would dry enough in time for pics. Of course, we got to Sears and not only was it still soaked, but you could still see the chocolate on it. Luckily we had about 20 minutes to spare, so we ran through the boys dept looking for a new shirt. I ended up getting both boys a new shirt, so they would match. By this time, I should have realized that luck was NOT in my favor, but noooo...my stubborn side kicked in and I was determined to take pictures. The kids were all in pretty good moods while we waited for our turn, but as soon as we got into the photo room, the beast started coming out. Jonathan decided that he was going to show his butt. He would not get into the pictures at all and screamed and even ran out of the room when we were trying to do pics. My friends, Jamie and Robyn, were also there and witnessed the whole thing. The girls and Austin did great and got some really cute pics, but who wants pictures of only some of their kids? Anyway, we decided to schedule a re-shoot and try again on another day. On the way home, everyone had milkshakes except Jonathan. He basically passed out in the truck and stayed that way all night. I guess he was just exhausted.

Tuesday, Jamie and I had lunch at Sizzler. We were trying to make the best of the lasy few days of April.

Wednesday, was pretty much a normal day. We did go to the PX for 31 cent scoop night at Baskin Robbins. It was a fundraising night for the Federal Fire Dept. There was lots of fun stuff for the kids and of course cheap ice cream. It was packed and very chaotic, but still worth the cost!

Thursday was finally May 1. I got to talk to Jason on the phone for a while, which is always a nice surprise! He is doing pretty good. He had news on his R&R being moved up about a week. That made my day! YAY! I also got a phone call from the YMCA saying that the girls had gotten selected for a camp scholarship for this summer. I had to go do the paperwork for it, and got them all scheduled for camp. It will be good to have something for them to do this summer. We still have one more camp possibility waiting to hear about. Camp Purple (camp for kids of deployed soldiers) should be notifying people next week if they got selected. I am hoping for 2 free weeks of cmap for them! oth Also, Jamie and Megan both came over with their kids for a llittle May Day Celebration. We had little picnic sandwiches, chips, fruit, and veggies. The kids all had picnics on the floor in the playroom, while the adults ate at the table. It was just a nice night of relaxation, and of course Grey's Anatomy viewing! LOL

On friday, I was helping a friend with her kids while her husband had surgery. That took pretty much the whole day, but I did get my baby fix for a little while. Her kids are almost 2 and 3 1/2 months. I love babies! LOL

On Saturday, we went back to Sears for our picture re-shoot. Thsi time it was much better. The kids all did great. Of course, I did have to bribe them in between pictures with M&M's, but hey, you gotta do what you gotta do, right?!?! LOL Below are some of the pics from our session. The saturday night, we went to Jamie's house for dinner. It is just nice to not have to eat alone, so we eat with each other... way too much most of the time! LOL Also, on saturday, I had to go the the ACC (acute care clinic). I have pink-eye. I am way to old for pink-eye!!! None of the kids have it or have had it in a long time, so I am not sure where it came from. But, I have it! So, today we didn't got to church since I am contagious. Wouldn't want to spread it to anyone else if possible. We are basically laying around doing nothing. I guess it is truly a "rest day" here. That is, if you don't count laundry, dishes, vacuuming, etc...LOL
