Military Day at the Zoo

Yesterday, we went to the zoo again. It was Military Appreciation Day, so it was free to get in, free food, activities, etc. Needless to say, it was crowded. We were there with 2 other families. Here's all the kids, minus my friends 5 month old, on an old firetruck. Megan loves to play dressup still. Here she is playing zookeeper in the Keiki Zoo (kids petting zoo).
Kailyn, Adrian, and Jonathan petting the goats.
They HAD to take a picture of this sign for Grandpa!
Allison and Lizzie trying not to look at the camera.
Austin and Emily taking a break together.
Jonathan coming at ya!!!!
Megan and Emily...BFF's.
Austin being happy at the zoo. He LOVES it!

last day of school

I was sorting through some pics this morning and I realized that I never posted pics from the last day of school. Both the boys had "last day programs/ceremonies", so here's a few cute ones of them.

Austin with Ms.Mary

Austin "I am a pizza"

Jonathan with Mrs.Velasquez

Jonathan with his leis

Austin had a pre-school year end ceremony. He will still be in the same pre-school class next year. His teacher is fantastic, so we are very glad that he will be with her again. He has changed so much and learned so much since being in her class. I am sure that it will be yet another hard ajustment when school starts again, but I hope he will adjust fairly quickly since he will be in her class again. For their program, they sang a few songs. His class sang "I am a pizza". They had painted pizza shirts and made the pizza hats to wear. It was so cute!

Jonathan had a kindergarten graduation ceremony. Each student was called up for a candy lei and a certificate. Then they all sang the "Shake you tail-feather" song from Chicken Little movie. He was lucky to also have a great teacher too. Even though he is young, he will move on to 1st grade this year. If we were anywhere else, he would only be going into Kindergarten this year, but the cut-off date for school here is Dec.30. He was enrolled as Jr Kindergarten this past year, so we had the option of letting him do Kindergarten again this year or putting him straight into 1st grade. His teacher recommended that he go into 1st grade. She said that he was avg or above avg in all areas, and that she could see him doing quite well in 1st grade. YAY!

Now we are just counting down the days until school starts again...JULY 30!

Tired thursday

I am not sure why exactly, but I am beat today. I have only gotten up off the couch to make a quick trip to the commissary, and that is it. I just have no umph today. Austin has been tired today too. He crawled up in my lap about noon and slept for 2 hours. Maybe we have just had a long week, even though we haven't done anything. Maybe it is the anticipation of what is on the horizon (mom coming, surgery, school starting, Jason coming then leaving again...). I dont know, but I sure hate feeling like a couch potato!

Record-breaking beach trip

Last weekend, we had another beach adventure. This time it was a record-breaking total of 16 kids and 6 adults! WOW! Talk about crazy!!! Here are all the kids.

Weekend in paradise

This past weekend was our long-awaited weekend at a cabin on the beach. We went to Waianae to the Pililaau Army Rec Center and rented a cabin for the weekend. It was me and the kids, along with Jamie and her kids. We had side by side cabins. It was such a great weekend. The kids were fantastic, the weather was fantastic, the water was fantastic, it was....Just another day in paradise! LOL Below is a slideshow of pics from the weekend. I will let the pics speak for themselves...

Just FYI...we can rent the cabins for anyone that comes to visit as long as we have some notice! *hint, hint*

Caught...almost!

The past week or so, my neighbor and I have discussed seeing a mouse scurry across the floor at night. (both of our houses) So, a few days ago, we found a dead mouse at the bottom of the stairs. I think Scooby must have chased it and scared it to death! There were no superficial wounds, just dead...LOL Anyway, last night we walked into the kitchen to find another little "friend" checking things out. I told Allison to get the camera. (I should have told her to get a dart or something!) I have since bought a few mouse traps, but didn't get anything last night. Allison just squealled and said "it is so cute!" Cute or not, this is my house NOT his!!! LOL

Sex and the City

I was never a fan of the show..we never had HBO, but MAN, it was a GOOD movie! Last night was Parents Night Out, so the girls and I went to see it. I have to say, I am hooked now! LOL I'll be shopping for the DVD set to watch the whole series now. Be warned, however, it is not for the little ones or the more conservative! LOL Otherwise, I definitely recommend it!
