Gas prices as of today, October 30, 2008...first time they have dropped below $3 in a LONG time! LOL For the first time in a long time, I filled up the truck for LESS than $100! YAY!!!!

Austin's field trip

was on Tuesday. His class went to the Children's Discovery Center. We have been there a few times, so it is not new to us, but it was still fun. I went along with him, as did most of the parents. He loved it. Here are some pics of his fun day:

monkey toes

As most everyone knows, Kailyn was born with 6 toes on her right foot. When she was 10 months old, she had surgery and had the xtra toe removed. I have thought (since they did surgery), that they cut the wrong toe off. At that time, they told us that she may need corrective surgery later to re-position the toe or whatever. Well, the last year, she has had ahuge growth spurt and the toe has become somewhat of an issue. It sticks way out to the side and casues difficulty with shoes. She has a hard time finding sandals, flip-flops, etc becasue that toes sticks out and over the side of the shoe. Wide widths don't always work either, since the other foot doesnt have a problem. So, I finally decided to make her an appointment to start the process of getting it fixed. We went today to our family practice doc, who sent her down for x-rays, and submitted the referral to an orthopedic/podiatrist. It will probably take a couple of weeks to get the referral all the way through Tricare, then I can schedule her with a civilian doc. I took this pic of her feet today as we were waiting for the doctor to come in the office.

Jonathan's 6th bday PART 2

We just had Jonathan's bday party yesterday. It was at a place called Adventure Alley down at the Pearl Harbor Bowling Alley. It was such a cool place for a party. There was a rock wall, ball pit, basketball throws, and lots of the big soft building block things. It was so much fun! Here's a slideshow of the fun!

Jonathan's 6th bday

Today was Jonathan's 6th bday. We are having his party on saturday, but we couldn't let the day go by without doing our family thing for him. We ordered pizza for supper, then opened presents, and had cake too. Here is the bday boy posing with his presents!

Here he is with his firemen and construction playsets that Austin picked out for him, and 1 of the puzzles that he got. He got 2 spiderman & friends puzzles. I just thought the expression on his face was just too cute!

Here he is opening the BIG one! Its a Terraniac, a remote controlled thing. He loves remote controlled cars/trucks/etc. This one claims to go on land, water, and snow. Its charging now, so we will give it a try tomorrow.

Showing off his new shirts from Grandma and Grandpa. One shirt is a dinosaur and the other is Bumblebee from Transformers. Great choices!

This was the 2nd BIG one...a pair of Heeley's from Grandma and Grandpa. He has been wanting some for a while, but I had put my foot down and said that I would NOT buy them...lucky for him, I put the bug in g-ma's ear and he got them! LOL He already tried them on and tested them out on the sidewalk....a few wipeouts later, he is starting to get the hang of it!

Here's the bday boy posing with all of his presents! He was a happy boy...and he even got to talk to his daddy before going to bed too. That just made the day complete for him. He went to bed with a HUGE smile on his face!

Early bday presents

On saturday, Jonathan and Megan got giftcards from Nana and Papa for their bdays. So, on sunday we had a little adventure at Toys R Us and Build-A-Bear Workshop. Here is what they bought:
Jonathan with this wrestling set. He bought the playset and an extra pack of wrestlers. He is such a boy! LOL

Here is Megan's Hannah Montana Bear. It is a special one with cute blue eyes, sparkley fur, and of course the Hannah Montana logo on the foot. It also came with a necklace. She opted for the regular clothes instead of the Hannah Montana clothes b/c she liked the purple leggings with this outfit. She is such a girl! LOL

So, THANK YOU, NANA AND PAPA! They both loved shopping for themselves with their own money! Oh my goodness...how my babies are growing up...I am getting old!

So, I got this link from a friend's blog. I am thinking about giving it a try. Anyone else have any experience with starting a jogging plan? Any advice?

New season for tv

I am so excited about the new season on television! I am loving the new Grey's Anatomy. It's likle everyone has there personalities back again...none of tha wishy-washy crap. It looks like it is gonna be a great season!

And then there is Private Practice...I am loving it too! I think a quote from tonight's episode might just be my new motto:
Life is not ass fat.
I LOVE IT! LOL I cracked up when it was said! What an inspiring quote! LOL
And of course, Desperate Housewives has returned with 5 years fast-forwarded. Not quite sure what to think about it yet. Kindda seems a little weak to me so far. I was a die-hard fan, but it doesn't have the same kind of flare as it has had. There is still time, so I am trying to see how it goes for a few weeks. I don't want to give up on it!

MY FIRST FONDANT!

I have been wanting to try my hand at making a cake with fondant for a while. Since Jonathan and Megan's bdays are right around the corner. I decided to give it a shot today. Here is my first attempt at making my own fondant. It was really easy, only I should have added a little more water. It started to crack on the edges since it was a little too dry. We'll see how it tastes with the cake later this evening. I'll have to try it again and make sure I put a little more water next time.

Childrens Discovery Center (Trip #2)

Our second day of Fall Break, I took the kids to the Childrens Discovery Center. Beware...there is a lot of pics in this post! LOL

Here's the boys staring in the door as we waitd for them to open this morning. They were very impatient! And here's the whole crew standing under the rainbow just before we started our journey through the center. This is always Jonathan's favorite part...the mechanic shop! He loves fixing the car! Like father, like son! Who says big kids can't have fun too? Allison loved it as much as the little ones did.
And Kailyn found a big comfy chair in the reading room to get some rest!

Here's Austin, Rachel, and Aidan posing in the cutouts.
Next was Jonathan, Megan, and Allison.
Allison., Megan, and Jonathan doing a show in the theater.
Allison's future job...
Grocery shopping in the kids store.
Megan wants to be a pineapple farmer!
Here they are playing on the cargo ship.
Austin wants to be like his daddy (and Grandma) and drive a fork-lift!
Megan was goofing off with one of the many dressup outfits. She was playing full-force today!!!
Allison, Megan, and Jonathan playing the mouth. Allison is well educated on those teeth now! LOL

Megan hamming it up again in China!
Kailyn, Rachel, and Allison being served some sushi from Megan in Japan.
Sushi...yummy! (NOT!)
Austin drving a taxi truck.
When we left, there were about a bazillion birds in the parking lot. The kids loved chasing after them and watching the "wall" of birds fly away. This is only about 1/4 of the whole lot of them that was there when we first got there. *I'd fly away too, if I saw our motley crew running toward me!*
